Sewing has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Every time I begin a new project, I’m taken back to memories of my mom altering and mending my clothes when I was a kid. As fast fashion continues to dominate our society, I choose to remember these moments where garments were preserved, not replaced.

I’ve always loved fashion, and the ability of self-expression through clothing. One simple piece of clothing can hold so much power in how we feel and express ourselves. This love and passion became replaced with guilt and worry the more I learned about the environmental and humane disasters of our garment industry. Thrifting became a way forward. I began to see possibility in what had been discarded, imagining how each piece could be reshaped, reworked, and made personal again.

Today, the fashion industry produces roughly 92 million tons of textile waste each year, alongside widespread labor exploitation and unsafe working conditions. These realities are wildly unacceptable. woohoo.redo is a commitment to slowing down, honoring what already exists, and choosing care over consumption.
